I'm away at PD, but just wanted to remind you all that temperatures are rising, and that means that the mangos are
coming. We’ve come up with a couple of ways to beat the heat and still have
fun.
1. Thursday, April 12, MANGO
MADNESS: Shannon Z is going to show us
the efficient way to peel and cut up
a mango. Besides that, we’ll have blind taste testing and mango smoothies going
on from 4:00 – 4:45 in .....TBD! I'll send out a reminder with the place next week. First come, first served.
2. Saturday, April 21, we’re taking
school bus to Kanchi to see some of the oldest temples in India. It will be a
morning trip, with us visiting a few of the many temples, followed by lunch and
a return home. We have room for 2 more people – the cost is 800 rupees per person. We will have a guide. I guess this isn't really a way to beat the heat at all.
3. Friday, May 18, 4:00 – 6:30 Indian
Cinema in the Madras Hall (put it on your calendar now, but stay tuned for more details).
If you get a chance, visit the Elefriends 101 Elephant Care Facility near Pondicherry. It's a TREE Foundation initiative. Here is a video about their current "residents": Elephants Heaven
